John Allen Turk 66, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was born March 14, 1943 to the late Allen Edward and Imogene Deloris(Young) Turk. John married the love of his life Linda (White) Turk on December 28, 1963, and she survives. John graduated from Butler University and worked at Eli Lilly as a pharmacologist for 43 years. He was also a member of the Church of Christ of Greenwood. In John's free time he enjoyed bowling until he was forced to quit due to ALS, otherwise known as (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Another favorite pastime was coaching Little League Baseball and Center Grove Soccer Club. Other survivors include, three sons, John Allen II (Donna Boner) Turk, Jason Matthew Turk, and Justin Nathaniel (Laura Rettle) Turk; three sisters, Diana (Richard) Joseph, Gail (Larry) Keesee, and Tina (Kirby) Langley; seven grandchildren, Katrina, Kyra, Jarod, Taiylor, Josie, Conan, and Sara Turk; and fourteen nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather on Monday, February 22, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A service will follow on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
