John R. Watson, 76 of Greenwood passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24,2025. He was born to the late Leroy and Dorothy Watson. He was born and raised in Elwood, Kansas.

John was a 20 year United States Army veteran. He had a career in law enforcement and a teacher. Johns favorite job was being a trucker driver because he loved seeing the country. He was a lifetime member of the DVA and a proud member of the American Legion Post 252 and VFW 5864. John never met a stranger.

John leaves behind his wife of 20 years Debroah Watson; children Sabrina Watson-Huber, Angela Watson, Maranda Mays, Rosalyn Watson and John Watson, Jr. and Tyler Cook; 13 grandchildren; four siblings Glenn (Ruth) Watson, Michael (Janice) Watson, Jerry Watson and Judy (Melvin) Simmons and several nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by both parents six siblings Donald Watson, Larry Watson and Garry Watson, Darlene Tapp, Rosemary Watson and Ladine Watson.

A visitation will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at Noon at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest with the full military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
