John Matlock Williams, Indianapolis, passed away on February 14, 2023. He was 97 years old. John was born in Medora, IN, to his parents Charles and Lydia Williams. He graduated from Medora High School. John married his wife, Mary R Williams, on June 24, 1950 and together they shared 67 years of marriage until Mary Passed away on January 17, 2017.
John worked as a communication specialist  for Conrail and retired in 1990 after several years of service. John was a member of the American Legion. He was a WWII veteran and a Korean War veteran. John and Mary both loved fishing and taking family vacations. John selflessly took care of Mary for many years before she passed away. John always made an effort to put his wife and children first in his life. The memories created will now be cherished by those he leaves behind.
John is survived by his children, Teresa (Ron) Hite and Laura (Andy) Brownley; his grandchildren, Chris (Dr. Teresa) Hogue, John (Christina) Brownley; his great grandchildren, Parker Brownley and Payton Brownley; his numerous nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; his son, Michael Williams; his grandchild, Michael Hogue; his multiple brothers and sisters.
A visitation for John will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 1:00 pm.
