Jon Robert Whitney 60 of Needham, Indiana passed away on February 24, 2022.  He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to John Whitney and Carmalita Smile.

Jon Robert graduated from Martinsville High School with the class of 1980.  He attended a year of college at Ball State University for Architecture, but then took a job as a union carpenter.  He was currently employed with the City of Greenwood.

In his earlier years, Jon Robert liked drawing, gardening, fishing, and NASCAR.  In his later years he enjoyed Amish auctions, visits from his friends and family, and the traditional Sunday visits with his Uncle Bob.  Some of his favorite places to travel were to Kentucky, the Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, and Mexico.

He leaves behind his mother Carmalita Smile; sister Gina Whitney; brother and sister-in-law Quinn and Vonda Whitney; nephews Renick, Austin and Luke Bowman; nieces Christen and Danielle Whitney and Jessica Hopkins; Uncle Robert (Bob) Whitney; many cousins; and many, many friends.

He will always be remembered for his generous, kind, loving heart. And will be missed dearly by all of us.
