Joretta Jean (Snyder) Toon, 81, of Franklin passed away January 24, 2019. She was born in Morgantown, IN on March 5, 1937 to Marion Edward and Ruth Charlene (Bailey) Snyder.

Joretta was a student at Morgantown schools. She was employed briefly at Kathy's Café but after she was married she was a housewife and stay at home mom. She married her husband, Harold L. Toon on February 8, 1962 and they were married for 50 years until Harold's death on June 9, 2012. Joretta was a member of New Whiteland Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, birds and embroidery.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Harold Toon; parents, Marion Edward and Ruth Charlene Snyder.

Joretta is survived by her son, Michael Lee Toon; daughter, Rebecca A. (David) Gerlach; siblings, William D. Snyder, Marion R. Snyder, Connie S. Snyder, Karen A. (Ray) Skillman and Violet I. Scrougham; grandchildren, Matthew D. Gerlach and Jeanna M. (Brittin) Salmon and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am also in the funeral home. Rev. Tracy Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
