Joseph Edward Smith, 69, passed away September 24, 2017 at his Greenwood, Indiana residence. The son of Lowell E., Sr. and Lillian Mae (Dickey) Smith, Joseph was born April 11, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a truck driver, having worked for Carter Cartage and TMX.

Joseph is survived by daughters, Lori Smith and Jennifer Smith, both of Indianapolis; brothers, Lowell E. Smith, Jr. of Camby, Frank L. Smith of Indianapolis, K. Wayne Smith of Celina, TN, David C. Smith of Ellettsville, IN and Samuel D. Smith, Sr. of Greenwood; sisters, Paula Yates of Camby, Carolyn Maxwell of Indianapolis and Terry Christofferson of Mooresville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother, Bradley L. Smith.

Visitation will be held September 29, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood.
