Joseph Richard Gallagher, 88 of Beech Grove, passed away March 15, 2013 at Beech Grove Meadows. The son of Edward Francis and Margaret McDaniels Gallagher, Joseph was born August 12, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during WW II. He was an avid golfer. Joseph was a retired PBX repairman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. March 19, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

Joseph is survived by sons, Tim Gallagher, Tom Gallagher and Terry Gallagher; daughters, Cindy, Janet Braun, Mary Jane and Molly; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Jane McCrary Gallagher and three brothers.
