Joseph Samuel Proffitt Williams, 28, of Boynton, Florida and Franklin, Indiana died Saturday, February 6, 2010. Joe was born in Fort Knox, Kentucky on July 9, 1981. Joe graduated from Franklin Community High School, Western Illinois University and Black Hawk College. He was a member of the National Honor Society. He served our country in the US Army from 1999-2009 where he was 2nd Lieutenant and received the Combat Inf. badge, Special Forces Combat patch and a number of others. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Joe enjoyed his motorcycle, video games, dancing, going to the beach and being with family and friends. Preceding Joe in death were his maternal grandparents: Judith A. Jones and Basil C. Burton, paternal grandmother: Shirley A. Wright, and a niece: Memory Riley Golden Williams. Surviving are his mother: Tricia E. Perez, Two sisters: Tricia Janelle Anne Williams, Jocelyn Evelyn Carleen Lewis. Two nephews: Malicki Samuel Xavier Williams, Mavrick Jonnathan Yates. Three nieces: Merical Ryan Carleen Williams, Zalayna Shyanne Marie Lewis, Zakyla Denise Elena Lewis. A number of special friends. God-son: Carter Thayer. Family will receive friends from 2 PM till time of service at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 13, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow with military graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
