Josephine Frances Armes, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of November 7, 2022. She was 95 years old. Josephine was born in Portland, Oregon to her parents Burt and Effie Patterson. She graduated from Manual High School. Josephine met her husband Dale and together they shared 72 years of marriage together before his death in 2018. Her brothers and sisters are Joseph Patterson, Patrick Patterson, Robert Patterson, Hellen Patterson and the only surviving sister is Stecil Fergasson.

Josephine worked in her beauty shop and retired after many years of service. Josephine was a member of several churches with her husband throughout the course of her life. Josephine enjoyed listening to Pastors John MacArthur and John Barnett and Bill Gaither gospel music on Sundays when she couldn't make it to church. She loved to paint pictures of nature and animals. Josephine was a lifelong dog lover who always appreciated the sweet smell of natural flowers. She loved her family and created many wonderful memories, which will now be cherished by those she leaves behind.

Josephine is survived by son, John Dean Armes; her grandchildren, Rachael Blandford, Stephanie Doyle, and Kristen Chiafos; Her great grandchildren are Bronson Blandford, Ava Marie Doyle, Anna and Clara Jane Chiafos; her sister, Stecil Fergason; her nieces and nephews, Tijuana Mendoza, Robert Armes , Dan Patterson, Brian Patterson, Bobby Patterson, Billy Patterson, Mark Patterson, and David Patterson.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Armes; her son, Lex Armes.

There will be a visitation at Forest Lawn Funeral Home for Josephine on Monday December 5, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday December 5, 2022 at 12:00 pm. The burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
