Juanita Fern Doan, age 93, of Franklin, passed away at the Masonic Home, with her family at her side. She was born September 29, 1923 in Edinburgh to Samuel and Dorotha (Long) Dunham. She was a graduate of Union High School with the Class of 1941. Juanita worked on the family farm all her life and she loved to play Euchre and spend time with her family. She married Raymond W. Doan on December 5, 1944 and he preceded her in death on May 4, 1991.

Juanita is survived by her daughters, Rita (Fred) Schowengerdt of Greenwood, Reva (James) Bates of Mooresville and Connie Weddle of Morgantown; brothers, Vernon Dunham of Edinburgh and Don (Sandy) Dunham of Shelbyville; sisters, Wanda DeVore of Morristown, Carolyn (Bill) McClure of Shelbyville, Glenda Cochran of Morristown, Rosie Severson of Berona, WI and Linda Purcell of Shelbyville; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; special friends who were always ther for her, Paul and Diane Richart. Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Elaine Simpson; brothers, Gene and Bill Dunham; sister, Audrey Barlow.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are given to the charity of the Donor''s choice.
