Juanita L. Lucas, 67 of Indianapolis passed on January 24, 2022 with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1954.

Juanita was a spirited, outgoing and fun loving woman with a passion for her family. She treasured all the time she got to spend with them and making memories. Juanita loved to fish, host family events and to be outdoors. If you was with her, you was routinely helping her plant something, weed flower beds and learning all about horticulture. Juanita also took great pride in being quite the prankster to those she loved.

Juanita is survived by her children, Patricia Elkins (Mike) and Richard Gregory (Shelia). Five brothers Danny Jenkins (Linda), James Jenkins (Jackie), Paul Jenkins (Debbie), Bob Jenkins (Kim) and Rick Jenkins (Theresa) and one sister Linda Barnett (Brent); three grandchildren, Joshua Elkins (Shanise), Brittani Alumbaugh (Draper) and Courtnee Anderson (Timothy); six great-grandchildren, Cambree, Kingston, Rylee, T.J., Tristen and Abby. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mable Jenkins; her loving husband, Wayne Lucas; brother Darrel Jenkins and sister Tina Jenkins.

A private family service will limited at this time due to Covid-19 precautions. A Celebration of Life is being planned and those details will be provided at a later date.
