Judith Ann "Judy" Henkel, age 70 of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at her home with her husband at her side. Judy was born November 7, 1945 in Cincinnati, OH to John and Mary (Gallucie) Brand. She was a graduate of Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, FL with the Class of 1963. She held an Associates degree in Business and was a Dog Trainer for many years. Judy was a member of the Indianapolis Obedience Training Club where she served as the Vice President. She was a longtime Pet Therapy volunteer at Community Hospital East. She loved to travel, collect German Teddy Bears and spend time with her beloved dogs, Marco and Roby.

Judy married Gregory T. "Greg" Henkel on October 14, 1967 and he survives her, along with her brother, Julius (Christine) Brand of Cincinnati and nephew, Shawn Brand of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Dog Parents are invited to bring their dogs to share in this service. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are made to The Salvation Army in memory of Judy.
