Judith May Burkman, age 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 with her family at her side. She was born February 7, 1944 in Indianapolis to Gerald and Virginia (Everman) Deer. She was a graduate of Emmerich Manual High School with the Class of 1961. Judy worked at Indiana Bell as an Operator for 11 years, R.C.A. for 4 years, and in Insurance for 15 years. She was a very devoted wife and mother who was also an avid bowler when she was younger. She was loved and admired by her family and friends and she will be sorely missed.

Judy married William Burkman on April 3, 1967 in Jonesville, VA and he survives along with sons, Dave (Tammy) Burkman of Nineveh and Dan (Lisa) Burkman of Morgantown; daughter, Debbie Burkman Appel of Hazel Green, AL; sister, Bev (Jim) Workman of Martinsville; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor John Money officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
