Judy L. Forey, 81, Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at IU Health Simon Cancer Center Indianapolis.
Judy was born on August 7, 1944, at Coleman Hospital (now IU Health) Indianapolis to the late Paul R. Gray and Corinne Gray (Stratton). Judy graduated from Southport High School in 1962 and then attended Indiana Business College where she received her Stenographic diploma in February 1963. During her life, Judy worked at Ayr-Way as a holiday decorator, Indiana Blue Cross and Blue Shield, K-Mart and later retired as a Cosmetician from Walgreens.
Judy loved to volunteer with PTO, Band Boosters and other activities as her children progressed through school. She officially joined St. Andrew United Methodist Church in October of 1989, where she volunteered as a counter and worked with friends to ensure the needy in her neighborhood were fed through the 'Bread of Life' program. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed playing Bunco, Euchre, caring for her friends and providing her opinion on any conversation topic. Judy's 'spunk' and 'spiciness' kept everyone entertained while her heart was about ensuring her children, grandchildren and friends were protected and cared for appropriately.
Judy is survived by her children, Ralph E. Forey III and Amy L (Sam) Eby; grandchildren, Ralph IV, Christopher, and Hannah Forey; Tyler (Shea) Eby, Kayla (Luca) Eby Bruno, Cara (Amyah) Eby; nieces, Paula (Clayton) Bennett, Andrea (John) Butler and nephew, Matthew (Jeanie) Fechner.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Eleanor Gray (Coleman); sister, Laurel G Fechner; brother, Paul C Gray and her beloved rabbit, Trixie.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 pm, Friday, November 21, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, Indiana. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until the time of service, Friday at the funeral home.
