Judythe “Judy” A. Kawalek, 84 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late James and Ada May on December 29, 1941.

Judy enjoyed her retirement years living at Lamb Lake surrounded by nature. She enjoyed staying at home and raising her son Steve. Judy enjoyed visiting the Art museum and traveling. She loved her Black Lab Josey and her cat Peanut.

Judy graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture and Art. She was an interior designer in the design studio of L.S. Ayres and later employed and retired at Barns and Thornburg.

Judy was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, American Institute of Interior Designers and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of Southport United Methodist Church.

Judy is survived by her husband of 56 years Gary Kawalek and two nephews Andrew (Christina) Baughn and James (Allison) Baughn. She is proceeded in death by her father James May (2005); mother Ada (Zellers) May (1993); son Stephen Kawalek (1996); a sister Sandra Baughn (2025) and a brother-in-law Joseph Baughn (2018).
