Julia Joanne "Jo" Playford, age 92, of Bloomington, passed away February 10, 2026, peacefully at IU Health Hospice House.Born January 6, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harold Franklin Clay and Lelia Clay.

Jo worked for many years at General Electric, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She will be remembered for her love of family, her kindness, and the joy she found in spending time with her many friends.

Jo is survived by her son Larry Clay, and three daughters: Viola Clevenger, Linda Caudill (Willie), and Vanessa Chakravarthy (Jay). She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Carl Dewar, Matthew Flater, Raman Chakravarthy, Rajan Chakravarthy, and Sara Dewar along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought her endless pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles Masterdon Clay, Franklin Eugene Clay, George Emanuel Clay, and Larry Delano Clay; her sisters Lola Clay and Marguerite Clay; her daughter Tabatha Burton; and her granddaughter Julia Harden.

Jo's warmth, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
