Julian R. Pirog, 55, of Greenwood passed away October 1, 2017. He was born in Queens, NY to Wladyslaw and Janina Pirog.

Julian proudly served his country in the Navy and the Air National Guard and was a member of the VFW, Post 5864. He enjoyed people watching and the VFW and traveling, as well as having a "cold one". He liked working his job as a mechanic at the post office.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Leslie Pirog; daughter, Dianne (Arin) Thompson; son, Joshua (Nicole) Pirog; brothers, Robert (Nola) Pirog and Ed (Kathy) Pirog; grandchildren, Dru Thompson and Ellie Pirog and nieces, Katie (Jeff) Masters, Kara Pirog, Amanda (Ray) Warren and Danielle Pirog.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in SS. Francis and Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 5901 W. Olive Branch Rd., Greenwood, IN 46143. Arrangements entrusted to: Forest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: ALS, Indiana chapter, 7202 E. 87th St., ST. #102, Indianapolis, IN 46256 to help research a cure for ALS.
