Kandy Adair
Ward
Aug 8, 1960 — Dec 26, 2021
Indianapolis
Kandy Adair Ward, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Kandy was born on August 8, 1960, to Pauline and James Yount in Indianapolis. She attended Warren Central High School and was in the graduating class of 1978. After high school, she went on to Southern Institute School of Interior Design. Later, she became the manager of Sherwin Williams.
In 1987, Kandy met Randy in Indy and then they were married in 1989. They went on to have two beautiful children, Brandon and Ashley. Kandy was passionate about gardening and traveling. These hobbies were continued throughout her life. She acquired her mother's green thumb, and spent many a day soaking up the sun while tending to her garden. As a family, they loved to pack up in their RV and find new places to explore. Riding bikes, hiking, and spending time around the campfire were some of the fondest memories for everyone in the family.
Kandy was preceeded in death by her parents, Pauline and James. She is survived by her husband, Randy, her children, Brandon and Ashley, and her brothers Terry, Kerry, and Mark.
Services will be held at Glenns Valley Church on January 8, 2022 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to A21, an organization that supports a cause that Kandy was extremely passionate about. A21 helps rescue victims of sex trafficing and slavery, and supports them as they rebuild their life. A21 uses their donations to educate and prevent sexual exploitation, provide safe havens and child advocates once a child is removed from their abuser, and funds a freedom center where survivors can heal and learn skills and languages to help them build a new life.
Donations can be made on their website at https://www.a21.org/content/donate/grlpag . Kandy would have loved knowing that her passion for this cause was carried on in her memory.
