Karen Yvonne (Whitaker) Hiatt, 82, Bargersville, passed from this world to be with our Almighty Father on April 7, 2020. She was born September 21, 1937 in Johnson County Indiana, she was the Salutatorian of her 1955 senior class at Whiteland High School. Karen worked at the Diamond Chain Company in Indianapolis early in her life, raised a family, and then later in life worked for Bargersville Utilities where she retired in March of 2001. Karen was loved by all that met her and she did not know a stranger. Karen was an active, long time member of her church, Mt. Auburn United Methodist, singing in the choir there for many years and had a special place in her heart for her choir family. She was an active member of the Providence Homemakers and Red Hat Ladies. Karen enjoyed going out for lunches with her sisters and cousins on a regular basis. Karen was an avid fan of all activities that her grandchildren, great-granchildren, nieces, and nephews were involved in.

Survivors: Two sons, Tom (Kris) Hiatt and Steve (Tammy) Hiatt;7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Sharon Parkhurst, Donna Plummer and Sybil Adrian and Brother, Dale Whitaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Hiatt Jr., Her daughter, Diana (Hiatt) Windhorst; Parents, Harold and Cloris (Devore) Whitaker; Sister Andrea Lammert and Brothers Lawrence Eugene Whitaker and Lynn Whitaker.
