Karen L. Long, age 68, of New Whiteland, passed away Friday February 25. She was born August 21, 1942 in Beech Grove, IN to Elmer and Marjorie (Dynes) Duke. She was an LPN for many years. She attended Advent Lutheran Church. Karen enjoyed sewing, ceramics, helping people, and was an avid garage sale visitor who many times bought clothes in order to give them to those who had none. She married Charles J. Long on September 2, 1960 and he survives along with her sons, Stephen, David and Michael (Theresa) Long; grandchildren, Matt, Stephanie, Brandon, Nathan, Hannah, Thomas and Nicholas Long; great grandchild Aidan Long. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the charity of one''s choice.
