Karl Ronald Scharlow, Cloverdale, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026. He was 71 years old. Karl was born in New Albany, IN, to his parents Henry E. and Donna Mae (Lee) Scharlow. Karl began dating his beloved partner, Jack Baker, in 1990 and together they shared 36 years of life and love together.
Karl worked as a press operator for Wright Printing, which later became Jackson Press, for several dedicated years. In his younger years, Karl enjoyed going camping and boating with his partner, friends, and family. He loved to spend time outdoors and soak up the sunshine. Karl was a homebody but never missed an opportunity to visit with others and enjoy their company. He will be remembered for his outgoing nature and lovable personality. Karl will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.
Karl is survived by his partner, Jack Baker; his siblings, Debbie (Nick) Gagel, Larry Scharlow, and Jack (Carol) Scharlow and his several nieces and nephews.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sandy Mattox.
