Kenneth Lee Decker, Indianapolis, IN, passed away on the early morning of Friday, September 18, 2026. He was 84 years old. Kenny was born in Monticello, KY, to his parents, Conrad and Dorsie Decker. Kenny married his wife, Tammy (Proffitt) Decker, in 2000, and they shared 26 years of marriage together.

Kenny worked as a group leader for UTC Carrier for 34 years and retired in 1999. Kenny was of the Baptist faith all throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors camping, fishing, and boating. He loved keeping a garden and sharing his vegetable harvests with friends and family. Kenny loved to be at the center of the party; his outgoing nature and quick-witted humor usually naturally drew others to him. Kenny was also a dog lover- especially when it came to his beloved lapdog, Macey. Kenny recently celebrated his 84th birthday surrounded by his beloved family; he made a point to tell several family members that it was the best birthday he ever had. Kenny will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Tammy Decker; his children, Nancy (Jeff) Ashlock, Judy (Derek) Chapin, Larry Decker, Cassie Strode, and BJ Strode; his grandchildren, Nathan Wilson, Victoria Padgett, Kassy Scott, Kayla Chapin, Cole (Catrina) Chapin, Brianna Nuckols, Kyiah Strode, and Hunter Strode; his 10 great grandchildren; his several nieces and nephews.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; his seven siblings.

A visitation for Kenny will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home (1977 S SR 135, Greenwood, IN, 46143). The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm.
