Obituary

Kenneth Edmond Graff, Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after battling lung cancer on and off for the last three years. He was 86 years old. Ken was born in New Orleans, LA, to his parents, Edmond Graff and Cecilia Louise Rita Graff. Ken married the mother of his children, Joyce Myrene Swindle, and they shared 16 years of marriage together. Joyce encouraged Ken to earn his GED during their time together, which he was able to achieve through a program out of Chicago, IL. Later, Ken married his wife, Margaret Eva Graff, and they shared 33 years of marriage together until Margaret passed away in 2010.

Ken worked a variety of jobs throughout his life to support his family. He was a produce manager in a Grocery Store in Louisiana, he worked for Budd Company in Indiana making Ford Motor Parts, and he worked for Canning Faribault Foods in Minnesota. During his time in Minnesota, Ken and his wife, Margaret, began working for a Senior Independent Living facility together. Ken worked in the maintenance department and took pride in investing time and energy to make the facility as nice as possible. Margaret and Ken were recruited by two more senior living facilities as time went on; they worked very well as a team and always left the buildings in better shape than they found them. Ken ultimately retired from Golden Meadows Senior Living in 2013. After Margaret passed away, Ken moved to Indianapolis, IN, and lived in Crestwood Village South Independent Senior Living with his beloved cat and cherished companion, Little One. Ken continued his passion for helping his fellow residents to make the facility an inviting and safe place to live. Ken was beloved by all his neighbors for his big hearted, social nature. During his free time, Ken enjoyed playing card games and trying his luck with lottery tickets. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ken will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.
