Kenneth Fredric Lewsader, 97, of Indianapolis, died August 3, 2014. The son of Herschel and Bertha (Nicklas) Lewsader, he was born near Covington, Indiana on February 19, 1917.
Kenneth was the beloved husband of the late Blanche for 67 years; loving father of Robert (Sue) Lewsader and Barbara (Charles) Oberly; dear grandfather of Clint Lewsader, Amy (Kevin) Reed, Jenny (Andrew) Meeks, Kevin (Melinda) Oberly and five great grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister, Wreatha Butler.
Ken was a World War II veteran, serving in the Coast Guard on the USS Dione. He worked 38 years for Indiana Bell Telephone and was a member of Indiana Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church for 60 years, serving as a Deacon and Elder. He was an avid I.U. and Chicago Cubs fan. He loved family activities and events, traveling, and reading. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services 11:00 a.m. August 7, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 9:00 a.m.
