Mr. Kevin Thorsten Toms, of Martinsville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 48.
Kevin was born on August 3, 1976, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to William Thorsten and Theresa Marie (Bales) Toms. He grew up in the area and attended Center Grove High School, graduating with the Class of 1994. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Ball State University in 2000.
For over two decades, Kevin built a successful career as a line producer, working with major television and cable networks in both New York City and Los Angeles. He worked with many companies over his course of his career including Fox, VH-1, Netflix, Lifetime, History, Discovery and A&E among others. His work took him to many places, and he found great joy in traveling. More recently, he had been working at Noble Wine and Spirits in Bargersville, where he made many friendships and connections.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kevin was a man of many passions. A talented musician, he enjoyed playing guitar and was part of several bands during his college years. He was a former member of the Screen Actors Guild in Los Angeles and had a deep love for screenwriting. A lifelong sports fan, he avidly followed the Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also had a great love for animals, especially his dogs, who brought him immense joy.
Kevin was a member of Mars View Christian Church in Indianapolis. He cherished time spent with family and friends, and his humor, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving parents, Theresa and Bill Toms; his beloved partner, Sarah Jean Gallant; his son, Aiden Thorsten Toms; and his brother, Adrian and his wife, Ann Toms.
He was preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, Charles Toms and Marcy Walker; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Hazel Bales; and his paternal step-grandmother, Lola Toms.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with Minister Mike England officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
