Obituary

Mr. Kurt Foster Rebennack, Greenwood, passed away on the late morning of Friday, October 3, 2025. He was 47 years old. Kurt was born August 8, 1978, in Franklin, Indiana, a son of Robert Carl Rebennack and Jeanie Dianne (Foster) Riley.
Kurt attended Franklin Community High School and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1996 and then later attended Ivy Tech Community College. Most recently, he had been employed with Nelson Insulation Company as an insulation technician, where he was known for his dedication and craftsmanship.
Kurt was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was also a member of the Heat and Frost Insulators Local No. 118. In his leisure time, he loved hiking—especially in the rugged mountain ranges of Alaska and Montana—and enjoyed shooting guns. A talented cook, Kurt was well known for his chili, which was often requested by friends and family alike.
He was a natural jokester with a great sense of humor and often laughed the hardest at his own jokes. In his younger years, Kurt was an exceptional basketball player and a skilled chess player. He also enjoyed taking long walks and looked forward with hope to raising a garden in the new world. Above all, Kurt cherished time with his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved most.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Hayley Renee (York) Rebennack; his sons, Leif Rebennack and Landin Rebennack; his parents, Bobby (Shirley) Rebennack and Jeanie (Jim) Riley; his brother, Erich (Julie) Rebennack; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vicki and Roger York; his sisters-in-law, Emily (Micah) Ball, Jill (Heath) Ruch and Breann York as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in passing by his grandparents and his brothers, Carl Rebennack and Paul Rebennack.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Beeson Hall, 396 Branigan Blvd., Franklin, IN 46131.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 1:30 pm until the time of service also at Beeson Hall.
