Larry G. Doty, age 68, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was born August 24, 1945 in Greenwood to Kenneth and Stella (Clay) Doty. He was a graduate of Center Grove High School with the Class of 1963. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and an avid woodworker. Larry was member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge # 514. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, go to garage sales, car shows and swap meets. Larry was a member of Bluff Creek Christian Church. He also was active in earlier years with the Boy Scouts of America Troop # 245 at Mt. Auburn United Methodist Church.

Larry married the former Dora Sue Franklin on March 1, 1969 in Franklin and she survives him along with sons, Kevin, Jeremy, and Aaron (Whitney) Doty; grandchildren, Cooper, Layla and Lainey Doty. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlotte Doty Moore.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Rev. Stan Icenogle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluff Creek Christian Church Missions Fund.
