Larry Leon Heacox I, Martinsville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. He was 83 years old. Larry was born in Brazil, IN, to his parents, Harold and Hazel Heacox. Larry married his wife, Nancy Heacox, on April 13, 1961, and they shared 64 years of marriage together. Larry answered the call of this nation by enlisting into the United States Air Force and after his period of faithful service was honorably discharged.
Larry was a hard worker and supported his family for over 35 years through his employment at Lilly Industries, later known as Valspar. Larry had a lifelong interest in airplanes and classic cars. He loved to spend time outdoors and appreciated nature. Larry loved thunderstorms and bird watching. He also loved to cut grass and maintain his lawn. In his free time, Larry enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, listening to music, and watching sporting events and movies. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing a laugh with them. He will be remembered for his stoic nature and lovable personality. Larry will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.
Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy Heacox; children, Debora (Drew) Stevenson, Larry (Lisa) Heacox II, and Jeffrey Heacox; grandchildren, Caleb (Lindsay) Stevenson, Eli (Megan) Stevenson, Daniel (Laura) Stevenson, Patricia Stevenson, Walter Stevenson, Benjamin Heacox, and Noah Heacox; great grandchildren, Andrew Stevenson, Sterling Stevenson, Aspyn Stevenson, Emery Stevenson, Bryan Stevenson, Isaac Stevenson, Skylar Stevenson, Addison Stevenson and Isabella Stevenson; sister, Mary Smallwood; several nieces and nephews.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Khristine Heacox; grandson, Kenny Stevenson; siblings, Harold Heacox, Wilburn Heacox, Virginia Fritche, Jack Heacox, Donald Heacox, and Tommy Heacox.
A visitation for Larry will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:00 pm.
