Lassie Jewell (Mann) Shipp, 92, of Indianapolis passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020.  She was born January 18, 1928 in Scottsville, Kentucky to Isaiah and Sarah (Poe) Mann.

Lassie was an amazing mom, raising her own five children and several grandchildren.  She was married to James "Bud" Shipp.  Lassie worked for RCA for more than 30 years.  She was an amazing cook and loved to feed anyone that came around, she especially enjoyed cooking for large family gatherings during the holidays.  Lassie was a gardener and canned many of her own vegetables.  She and Bud enjoyed being outdoors and camping.  More than anything, Lassie loved her family and took care of all of them.  She will be greatly missed.

Lassie is survived by her children, Ronald Gilliam, Robert (Mary) Gilliam, Brenda Stonehouse, Patricia Hooten, and Kathy (Steve) O'Hair; seventeen grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lassie was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Shipp; brothers, James Mann, Onie Mann and Willard Mann.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 17 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. SR 135, Greenwood, IN  46143  with service to follow at 3:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lassie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association: www.alz.org .
