Launa "Lee" Gabehart-Burns Past peacefully July 24 among family in Franklin Indiana. She was born to Roy and Mary Gabehart on February 16, 1931, in Franklin Indiana who preceded her in death.
Launa married Jackie L Burns, September 8, 1984, who also preceded her in death. They had 24 years of a wonderful marriage.
Launa began working at the young age of 16 in downtown Greenwood, Indiana at restaurants such as Coffee Cup, until she began employment in 1970 at Greenwood Village South retirement community. Lee was always known for her work ethics and commitment to jobs, always hard-working and never missing a day of work.
She retired in 1990 after 43 years of continuous employment, spending time with her husband and family enjoying life to the fullest. Through the year she enjoyed her church families and friendships she acquired. Always known for never meeting a stranger, somewhat of a social butterfly.
Given an opportunity of conversation with any individual, she would share about her children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Also loved sharing stories of all the experiences with her siblings. Family experiences and friendships were very important to her.
She grew up in a large family with eight siblings. Three who preceded her in death. Elmer Ray, Marvin and Kenneth Gabehart. Survived by five Rudolph (Bernie) Gabehart, Elworth (Patty) Gabehart, Catherine Duke, Norene (Charles) Williams, George (Patty) Gabehart. Launa Had two sons Lester Gabehart Who preceded her in death. Norm Gabehart survives her. Seven grandchildren Brian Gabehart, Angie Smith, Tiffany Gabehart, Nathan Gabehart, Ashley Gabehart, Austin Gabehart, and Osa Gabehart. Six great grandchildren Christian, Maggie, Dillion, Daxson, Everly and Kasen. Several nieces, nephews and stepchildren. All were a vital part of her life.
A visitation will be Thursday, July 31, 2025 from Noon until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Launa will be laid to rest next to her husband Jackie Burns at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
