Obituary

Leah F. (Wirey) Freeman, 97, of Indianapolis went home to be with the Lord February 25, 2021.  She was born July 31, 1923 in Franklin, Indiana to the late Oris and Esther (Switzer) Wirey.  Leah was the oldest and last living member of the Wirey family.

Leah lived a long, full life.  She was married for 30 years and raised six children.  She also worked for Ayrway, which became Target, and retired after many years of service.  Leah enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, and every night she would read her Bible before she went to sleep. She loved her large family, and will be missed by many.

Leah is survived by her children, LInda (James) Wright, Teresa (Norval) Ward, Marsha (David) Harvey, Margie (Joseph) Hoskins, Guy Freeman II, and James Freeman; twenty grandchildren, and many great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Leah was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Wirey, and Reba Meno; daughter, Esther Freeman; one grandson; and one great grandson.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 2 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 3 at 11:00am, also at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
