Mr. Lee Roy Belcher, of Franklin, passed away on the late evening of Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was 82 years old.
Lee was born on May 22, 1942, in Kings Mountain, Kentucky, the son of the late Otis and Mary Ethel (Pullman) Cunningham. He was lovingly raised by his parents, Carl and Ruby Belcher, who preceded him in death.
Lee attended Warren Central High School and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1962. Following his graduation, he began a long and dedicated career with the General Motors Corporation, Truck and Bus Division. He retired in 1995 after more than 30 years of faithful service.
A man of strong faith and fellowship, Lee was a member of Vineyard Church in Greenwood and the United Auto Workers in Indianapolis. In his leisure time, he greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing—especially at lakes in the Terre Haute area—camping, hunting, and gardening. Lee also enjoyed watching movies and spending quality time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Lee is survived by his children: Sherry (Keith) Schoen, John (Lisa) Taylor, Dereck Belcher, Mike (Lori) Taylor, Mark Belcher, and David (Renee) Taylor; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Mae Belcher, and his sisters, Carol and Evelyn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
For those wishing to make a memorial contribution, the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
