Lela Evelyn Thomas, 81, of Indianapolis, died at her home Thursday, March 25, 2010. Evelyn was born to the late Coy and Ida Stone Johnson in Sumner, TN on June 29, 1928. She retired from Bemis Bags in Indianapolis. Evelyn married Charles Thomas and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters and son in-laws: Diana and Lee Mandrell, Sandra and Bill Willey. One son: David Brunnemer. One brother: Cleo Johnson. One sister: Marie Bruce. Seven grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded by one brother and two sisters: Family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 PM. Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM Monday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to the St Francis Hospice.
