Leon Houchin, 85 of Indianapolis, formerly of Franklin, IN passed away December 5, 2011. He was born December 17, 1925 in Brownsville, KY the son of the late, Theodore and Anna (Lindsey) Houchin. Also he was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Petro and a brother, Rodney Houchin. Leon was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of the Martinsville Masonic Lodge #74 F&AM, the Martinsville Elks Lodge#1349, Martinsville American Legion Post #125, the Indianapolis Murat Shrine and the Scottish Rite and the Jester''s Club. He also was a Kentucky Colonel. Leon was a retired welding engineer with AeroFab Corp. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue E. (Hazlett) Houchin; his father-in-law, Joe Hazlett; his children, Theressa Rynard, Leona Jamison, Desi (Mac)Dunn, Pam (Peter)Groote, James (Teresa)Houchin;his siblings, Delores Wray, Doris Raley, Dorothy Elmore, Judy Coffey, Ted and Paul Houchin; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be (12-8-2011) Thursday from 5 to 8pm and also one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday (12-9-2011) at 1pm in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens & Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Transportation Fund c/o The Indianapolis Shrine.
