Obituary

Mr. Leonard William Quinlin, was born into this life on September 26, 1921 through the union of Herbert and Marie Quinlin in Perry County Indiana. Leonard''s mother, father, and his brothers Robert, Johnny, Lester and his sisters Gladys and Marguerite proceeded him in death and are waiting with open arms to greet him as he walks through heaven''s gate. Leonard accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior early in life while he attended Holy Cross Church in Perry County Indiana. Leonard served his country in the United Stated Air Force overseas during WWII, including Normandy, receiving a bronze star and numerous other medals and citations. Leonard worked at Stewart Warner for many years until retirement. Leonard served as vice-president and then president of local United Steelworkers of America, District 30 for a number of years. Leonard''s passion in life was his gardening and fishing. He was proud to show off his gardening skills and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending his time helping others at eh Mary Riggs Center. "I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, through he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."-St. John 11:25-26 Leonard William Quinlin departed this life on October 13th at the age of 86 years and 16 days. Leonard''s passing leaves a cherished memory on the hearts of all who knew him and even more in the hearts of his loving family. Wife of many years, and caretaker, Thelma Hilbert. Daughters; Mary Ann Taylor (George), Jackie McGuffey (Roy), Shirley Mims (Daniel), Terry Tabor (Gerry) and, Nancy Helms. Sons, Leonard Quinlin II (Marsha) and Lawrence Quinlin. Sister, Mary Evelyn Viewegh, Brother; Francis, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday October 18, 2007 at 4:00- 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
