Leopold "Lee" Richard Kist, 69, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away October 25, 2015. The son of Leopold and Hildegard Steinger Kist, Lee was born January 17, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois.
Lee was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a supervisor / air traffic controller at Indianapolis International Airport. Lee enjoyed golfing, tennis and snow skiing. He and Bonnie enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Germany, the Caribbean and Alaska. Lee was a do-it-yourselfer - did his own plumbing, carpentry work around the house and even built a few sheds. He enjoyed his miniature schnauzers and his Lionel train set.
Lee is survived by his wife, Bonita "Bonnie" J. Wahl Kist of Greenwood; daughter, Jennifer Lee Kist (Adam Douglas Strong) of Greenwood; sons, Jonathan Lee (Kathryn Rae) Kist of Katy, Texas and Nathaniel Lee Kist of Houston, Texas; brother, Ronald Kist of Reno, Nevada; three grandchildren, Parker Austin Kist, Mila Jonell Kist and Evan Leopold Kist. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kist.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, October 30, 2015, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Rev. Fr. Gerald J. Kirkhoff will recite prayers at 11:45 a.m. to conclude the visitation.
