Lester Chaney, 92, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital South. He was born on June 24, 1915 in Ano, KY, to William and Mary Sears Chaney. He attended school in Ano, KY and was employed with General Motors for 25 years, retiring in 1980. His retirement years were occupied with walking with his friends, every morning at the Greenwood Mall and gardening. He was known for his famous tomatoes. He will be deeply missed by his children: Danielle Sherman, Jo Ann and Robert Chaney, grandchildren: Mark Ginsburg, Matthew Cummick, Linsey Patterson, Ashley Chaney, great grandson: Colten Cranford. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Geneva Nichols Chaney whom he married on December 22, 1947. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South St. Rd. 135, Greenwood. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 13th from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of his wife.
