Lex Allen Armes, 65, of Greenwood passed away March 24, 2018. He was born in Anderson, IN on May 18, 1952 to Dale and Josephine (Patterson) Armes.

Lex loved to work hard. He graduated in 1975 with a pastoral Bible degree and enjoyed teaching high school. He developed his love for cooking while managing a couple fast food stores and became an expert at honey grilled chicken, rosemary potatoes, and microwave chocolate mug cakes. He loved to work out, proud that he could bench press like an army ant – at least 1/6 his body weight. He loved to star gaze through his telescope he made himself. Finally Lex was a child of wander lust, having driven his truck through 49 states, and won the million miler award twice in his 20+ years with Scneider.

Lex was preceded in death by his father, Dale Armes.

He is survived by his spouse, Chris Armes; mother, Josephine Armes; daughter, Kristen (John) Chiafos; brother, John Armes and one granddaughter, Clara Jane Chiafos.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a funeral service at 7:00 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
