Mrs. Lila Mae Etter, Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, July 14, 2022. She was 74. Lila was born September 20, 1947 in Greencastle, Indiana, a daughter of the late Russell J. and Hallie M. (Kent) Sanders.
Lila attended Reelsville High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1965. She had been employed in the electronics department at WalMart and retired in 2008 after 24 years of service.
Lila had a servant's heart and cared for others all of her life. She deeply loved her family, and was very engaged with them, especially her grandchildren and looked forward to going on shopping trips with them. She spent much of her leisure time fishing, working puzzles and raising her yearly vegetable garden. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family, particularly at Thanksgiving.
Lila is survived by her children, Tracy Etter and her husband Richard Magnus and Rob Etter and his wife, Tammy; her grandchildren, Lauren Ian (Kenzie), Carlie and Evan; her great-grandson, Brodie; her brother, Larry Sanders and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles L. Etter as well as her siblings, Fred Sanders, Russell Sanders and Mary Grossman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with Pastor Robb Barlow officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband following the services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
