Obituary

Lillian (Wallace) Tatum passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. on July 13, 2026, at the age of 101. She was born on October 21, 1924, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to the late M.C. and Bertha Mae Wallace. Lillian was one of four siblings and the only daughter. When she was a young girl, her family moved to Newellton, Louisiana.

Lillian’s career reflected her steady work ethic and dedication. She began with Kullman Brothers before moving on to Panola Company. After relocating to Indiana with her family in 1962, she worked for Jim Webb Real Estate and later joined American United Life (AUL), where she remained until her retirement in 1993.

Lillian married W. Marvin Tatum Jr. on November 10, 1946, and together they built a loving home and raised two children. They shared 56 years of devoted marriage before Marvin’s passing.

Lillian will be remembered for her love of shopping, her enthusiastic cheering for LSU football, and the joy she found in spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Faith and music were important parts of Lillian’s life. She was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the church choir.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; her three brothers; and one great-grandson.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Judy (Jeff) Moon; her son, Ron (Dee) Tatum; six grandchildren, Jami Bennie, Josh Tatum, Lisl Hewitt, Ben Tatum, Abby Albright, and Amy Woolf, 15 great-grandchildren and former Daughter-in-Law Nancy Tatum.

Funeral arrangements are in care of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Lillian will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens alongside her beloved husband.
