Lincoln R. Baker, age 48 of Morgantown, died on Saturday, July 11th, 2009 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Born August 14, 1960 in Springfield, Massachusetts, he is the son of Donald Vernon and Patricia (Rinehart) Baker. On October 20, 1990 in Palmdale, California, he married Linda Wiesenauer.
Lincoln grew up spending a lot of his childhood in Wichita Falls, Texas and McGuire Air Force Base before moving to Evansville at 14. He graduated from Evansville North High School in 1978 and then from Purdue University in 1982 in Electrical Engineering Technology. In 1982, he hired with the Boeing Company working in Wichita, KS, Edwards Air Force Base and Everett, WA. He worked in Flight Test on the B1-B Stealth Bomber as well as Boeings first 777 Commercial Jet. He joined Cummins Engine Company in 1999 working as a Systems Engineer working on the QSM11 engine.
He played on worship teams at Calvary Chapel at Antelope Valley and Palmdale Fellowship both in Palmdale, CA. He also played on Sonlife Christian Assembly in Marysville, WA. Most recently, he worshiped at the Horseman''s Camp Christian Outreach. He was active in the jail ministry at Snohomish County jail in Washington and also at the Brown County Jail. Lincoln loved to play drums and guitar and to write worship songs.
Lincoln is survived by his parents, wife, Sons: Josiah and Samuel Baker; Daughters, Sarah Wiesenauer Baker, Emily Baker, Amethyst (Amy) Baker and Naomi Baker; Brother Donald "Donnie" (Debbie) Baker and Sister Melissa "Missy" Baker; Nephew Matthew Baker; He is also survived by several aunts.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
