Obituary

Mrs. Linda Fay Burns, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Tuesday, May 25, 2021. She was 72. Linda was born August 9, 1948 in Franklin, Indiana, a daughter of the late Luther F. and Arizona (Godsey) Inabnitt.

Linda was a High School graduate and worked for Meijer at the store on Southport Road and retired in 2001 after nine years of service. She had at one time owned and operated Marty's Lounge in Indianapolis. Linda enjoyed bowling, darts, going to the casino and traveling especially to Kentucky and Tennessee. She also liked to watch old movies especially those starring John Wayne and watching The Walton's and Little House on the Prairie. She also enjoyed a good rainy day.

Linda loved her family dearly and looked forward to the time they spent together.

Linda is survived by her children, Shawn Woodward and Jason Coons, her stepchildren, Dana Johnson-Russell, Kenneth Burns and Dexter Burns; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;   her siblings, Roger Inabnitt and Shirley Cottrell-Cropper; her former spouse, David Coons as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Dane Burns and her siblings, Joe Garner, Ella Smith and Lily Stoner.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 4, 2021 at Forest lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials made be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
