Linda Lou Smith, Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was 82 years old. Linda was born in Indianapolis, IN, to her parents John and Mary Beder. She graduated from Trafalgar High School. Linda married her husband David Smith on April 6, 1963, and they shared 62 years of marriage together.

Linda supported her family by working as a beautician for several years. Linda was a Christian and privately practiced her faith. She was a talented cook and leaves behind several delicious recipes for her family to enjoy. She enjoyed reading various genres of books during her free time. Linda’s happy place was the beach, and she thoroughly enjoyed her trips to visit Florida. Linda’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she proudly wore her title as grandma. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, selfless love, and lifelong generosity. Linda will be dearly missed and forever cherished by those she leaves behind.

Linda is survived by her husband, David; her children, Kim (Tom) Banta, Brent (Dawn) Smith and Todd (Theresa Cicchinellli) Smith; her 7 grandchildren, Alexandria, David, Thomas, Mackenzie,Mitchell,Samantha and Kyle: her 2 great grandchildren, Quinn and Clark.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Johnny; her grandson, Zake.

A visitation for Linda will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 1:00 pm.
