Lois J. Sherfield, 82, of New Whiteland, IN passed away November 22, 2013. She was born April 21, 1931 in Westboro, Wisconsin to the late Archie and Mildred (Streeter) Herbert.
On September 6, 1950, she married Layton L. Sherfield in Taylor County, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was a life member of Whiteland VFW Post # 6978 Auxiliary, a long time member of American Legion Auxiliary Post# 252 in Greenwood, and loved playing Bingo and cards with friends. She was a bookkeeper for the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Indiana for several years, and retired in 1995.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Sharon) Sherfield, David (Sandra) Sherfield and Dean Sherfield; two daughters, Denise (Larry) Zweck, and Shari (Kevin) Terry; brother, John Hebert, and sister, Ann Olah.
Fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great- grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by, her parents, husband, son, Dale Sherfield, daughter Sandra Castaneda, brothers, Donald and Joseph Hebert, sisters, Nancy McCrellias and Linda Hebert.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:00AM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
