Lola M. Toms, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away March 3, 2015 at Greenwood Health and Living Community. Born February 24, 1922 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of the late and Mary (Hauck) Lawrence. Lola was a 1940 graduate of Emmerich Manuel High School. She married Charles A. Toms Sr. in 1949.
She worked as a postal clerk for fifteen years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the American Postal Workers Union (A.P.W.U.), and a member of Mars View Christian Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are five sons, Charles (Sharon) Toms Jr., William (Theresa) Toms, Gary (Debbie) Toms, Douglas Toms, and Paul (Jenny) Toms; a daughter, Talta (Joe) Williams, fifteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mack, a daughter, Patti Staggs; two brothers, Dennis Wolfe, and Charles Lawrence.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
