Loren L. Miers, 80, of Beech Grove, passed away July 4, 2014. He was born June 11, 1934 in Greensburg, to Herschel and Dorothy (Powers) Miers.

Loren worked at Detroit Diesel Allison from 1953 until his retirement in 1991.

He married the former Peggy Phelps on June 30, 1974 and she survives him along with his sons, Rick L. Miers, Doug A. Miers and daughter, Kimberly K.(Gregg) Hohlt; step-son, Rob (Lill) DuKate; siblings, Annabelle (Doug) Noah, Larry (Loretta) Miers, Gale (Brenda) Miers, Connie (Tim) Cooper, Herschel Miers, Jr. and Linda Hisel; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. Visitation will be Monday, July 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Francis Hospice Services.
