Lorton W. Bryant, age 97 of Greenwood, died on August 28, 2009 at Greenwood Village South Pavillion. Born January 29, 1912 in Herrick, Illinois, he was the son of Homer and Mary (Lorton) Bryant. On February 10, 1938 in Connersville, he married his wife of 71 years, Myrtle Miller Bryant, who survives. Lorton graduated in 1935 from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for the Roots Connersville Blower Company until retirement. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Lorton was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Connersville and also the Fraternal Order of Masons, Warren Lodge#15 in Connersville where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He and Myrtle were active in the Indiana State Airstream Group. Survivors include his wife Myrtle and two daughters Ann Green and Ginna (Phil) Eckert. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Lorton was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. A Masonic service will be at 2:00pm Sunday, August 30, 2009 followed by the funeral service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46163. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be Monday at 11:00am at Dale Cemetery in Connersville where military rites will be accorded.
