Louis Edward Edens, 87, of Franklin, passed away October 21, 2012 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. The son of Elzie and Ida M. Parker Edens, Louis was born April 12, 1925 in Springfield, Tennessee.

A machine operator, he retired after 42.5 years from Arvin Automotive. Louis was a charter member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and member of the United Auto Workers.

Louis is survived by his wife, Christeen F. Bernard Edens of Franklin; sons, Terry and Lee Edens, both of Franklin; daughters, Debbie Baughman of Kendallville, Gloria Locey of North Port, Florida, Janet Edens of Frankfort, Rita Summers of Indianapolis, Joan Wilborn and Letha Wolfarth, both of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Edens and a sister, Lula Head.

Services 12:00 noon October 25, 2012 in Faith Missionary Baptist Church - 1349 Graham Road, Franklin, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
