Obituary

Lucille C. Black, 88, of Greenwood, passed away October 4, 2014. The daughter of Adam and Eva (Burton) Canada, Lucille was born October 21, 1925 in Mercer County, Kentucky.

A homemaker, Lucille loved to crochet.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Donald E. Black of Greenwood, whom she married on March 8, 1968 in Indianapolis; sons, John (Terri) Blair of Whiteland, James (Rachel) Blair of Bradenton, FL, Donald (Jenny) Black, Jr. of Owatonna, MN; daughters, Mary (Ernest) Carr of Franklin, Jackie (Ken) Palmer of Bradenton, FL and Nancy (Clyde) Griffith of New Whiteland; stepdaughters, Donna Black and Barbara Meadows, both of Indianapolis and Jessie Howe of Plainfield; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Hobart "Bruce" Brown, four brothers and four sisters.

Services 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Friends may call Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
