Obituary

Lucille "Lucy" Laverne Miller Maple, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away February 1, 2016 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Greenwood. The daughter of Herman J. and Emma C. Burkhart Miller, Lucille was born August 17, 1934 in Indianapolis.

A homemaker, she had previously worked as an assembler for BHD Products, manufacturing brake shoes and fuel pumps. She was a member of Grove Baptist Church in New Whiteland, had bowled in several women leagues at Expo Bowl and was a square dancer with the Brownsburg Square Uppers. She loved to play bingo, going to the casino, fishing and camping, spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was an avid watcher of All My Children, Jeopardy and the daytime version of The Price is Right.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Paul Maple of Indianapolis, whom she married on January 30, 1965 in Indianapolis; sons, A. J. (Cara) Maple and Daniel S. Maple; step-sons, Steven R. (Peggy) Maple, all of Indianapolis and Michael A. (Paula) Maple of North Salem; daughters, Brenda M. Partlow of Cheyenne, WY and Cindy (Tom) Morrow of Indianapolis; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Debbie K. Thompson and seven brothers.

Funeral services 11:00 a.m. February 5, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. February 4, 2015. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
